Activities for Independent Living at Schools for the Deaf

Generally, activities for independent living at schools the Deaf include various instructions in order to promote language development. Meanwhile, needs of children with hearing impairment can be diverse. For example, some aim actively use their hearing, whereas others desire sign as first language. Therefore, this study suggests that support must tailored each individual. Additionally, it is not only important such students acquire knowledge but also apply develop problem-solving skills. It necessary provide guidance on improving self-advocacy, including understanding own conditions and asking help when aiming achieve social independence. Based findings, indicates teachers should understand actual situations impairment, set short- long-term goals, collaborate specialized institutions.
